We need a way to restrict factories so they can only produce specific product classes.

Hi, I'm a modder working on a complete overhaul of all in-game products.

While rebalancing the profitability of various product classes—especially semiconductors—I ran into a major issue.

In real life, fabs are extremely expensive to build, making semiconductors a high-risk, high-reward industry. But in Capitalism Lab, they’re just high-reward with virtually no risk or tradeoff.

It doesn’t make sense that you can manufacture something like blazers and CPUs in the same factory, with the same operating costs.

To address this, I’d like to request a modding feature that allows us to edit which product classes each factory type can produce.

It is an interesting idea and I support the notion of modding in different factory types for different products. As a general rule it is more realistic to have specialised factories for certain product types.

Given the current game rules I guess the next best thing to do would be to make the product have a very slow speed for the products that you want 'Expensive' factories for, so that the player has to spend more money on building factories. Perhaps even creating a specific factory type that is very fast but also too expensive for'Normal' products and hence only suited to that specific product.

Anyway just a thought on this.
