Mysterious non-existent employee receiving wages: Identity Uncovered!!!

Post by Brutus »

Somehow I'm paying for 'Wages' through 'Salaries Expense' eventhough I don't have any firms or employees

How to reproduce?
Just run any game and watch how you are mysteriously paying wages for a non-existent employee when you don't even have any firm on the board yet.

Is this a new mechanic to simulate the living expenses of CEO's?

All AI's seem to be affected by this bug as well.

[EDIT]
Breaking news from Hyper Cube corporation. The person who was secretly siphoning off funds from the company has been uncovered and it was none other than the CEO himself! He has expresses extreme displeasure at the discovery that his alternate ego was secretly working behind his back slushing money from the company despite not having a CEO office to do so. Even after the proper construction of a CEO office and despite hard efforts to curb his alter ego from robbing the company blind, he has been unable to stop this from happening as at every dawn of a new month, his alter ego takes over and sets an annual wage for himself.

Can you send your save, and do a video with "bandicam" or other software, please ? I think that you have the same problem that I.

Very likely,

Start a new game, DLC don't matter, don't do or build anything, just check your firm's ''Corporate Income Statement'' in the information center under Financials and check if you are losing money in the ''Salaries Expense'' subsection as you run the game in speed 4 or 5. It seems to be somewhat random how much money you actually lose depending on the game startup. I had one game where it drained 80,000 dollars every month and another where it was only 1,500 dollars a month. That's a huge discrepancy. Losing just 1,500 dollars a month is chump change in the grander scheme of this game so I doubt many people would realize it since every human player is likely to start investing immediately in actual firms and it would drown out this small number. I just happened to accidentally find this bug by being lazy  though I imagine that people who play with AI headstart or play the initial game with stocks would be heavily annoyed by this bug. V6.9.02

[EDIT] added my savegame, though it's literally on every game I run, no matter what settings I use, mods or no mods, script or not script, randomized or whatever. Mysterious employee is living on my payroll. :D I've never had the urge to vote republican as much as I have now  Oh well now I discovered it was my own CEO all this time. Well that's awkward. Back to voting socialism again and putting my guy on a $0 paycheck
