So I just heard about the new subsidiary DLC features and I love it. I was searching for more informations on products customisation; can we set in our manufacturing units which tech level it uses. Apparently we can't and to me it is what this feature lacks to be really awesome.
At a certain point in your game you will only be able to manufacture top-tech products. Thus, all the benefits of taking time to set up nice customisation and finding cool images, and all the effects on the gameplay will be gone.
This idea has already been suggested 1 month ago by blaster79:
So what do you guys think about that ?You should then be able to choose, clicking on a manufacturing unit in a factory, what tech-level to produce. For example:
Product v1 - tech level 0
Product v2 - tech level > 100
Product v3 - tech level > 200
Even if you upgrade all of your manufacturing units, they will still be able to produce low tech products. Actually the production is automatically set to highest tech level product after the manufacturing unit is upgraded and you can't go back.
+ bonus questions somehow related:
- Ive seen that there are folders for eggs and frozen meat in the customization folder as well, does that mean we will be able to customize farm products depending on product quality/future farm tech(s) ?
- Is there/Will there be a way to automate the settings of your product customisation before launching the game ? Via scripts or the empty FILEINFO.TXT that we can find in the products folders ?
- How do we customise mod-added products ? Is that only the mod developper's doing or will we just have to add folders with the correct products names ?
