Can't win elections

I can't seem to win elections anymore. I won the election of two cities, but as you see by the screen pic I spent heavily in this city but as soon as I hit 40 % support rating it ticks back down to 30 % and it goes on like that until I inevitably lose the election 31/12. I have reloaded a save-file to attempt another election, but I fail every time. I can't seem to find the answer here on the forum, except that you are planning on making elections harder. But this seems like a bug (?). The two cities I am controlling do not have a problem keeping the support rating up though...?

Am I missing something? Is this supposed to happen?

I did a test run where I put three candidates in the same city and put the budget on max, which lead to a mayoral victory. But this does seem like a bug, right? If I run 1v1 I can't win, but if I run 1v1v1v1 I can easily get 70 % of the votes...?

We will investigate the problem.

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) If your savegame uses a MOD, please let us know the name of the MOD and the MOD's version number.

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from the C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

You may provide us with your save game file by posting it here on the forum as a ZIP file attachment or emailing the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

If your save game file is too large for attachment, you may check out this post about how to send us large files: https://www.enlight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2473

I asked the dev team for more details about the recent AI improvement on running for mayor. They said that the AI can now set variable election campaign budgets over the months leading up to the election. So the reason you saw your rating drop is probably that they increased their campaign budget resulting in their increased rating, which means a drop in your rating.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I try (for a second time) in a row to win an election in a specific city and once my candidate reaches 47% and the running mayor 53% my percentages got cut back to 42% and the whole stuff loops again. My monthly budget for election is 43m while the budget of the running mayor stays at 4m constant (also their party budget does not seem to decrease).

For me it does not make sense. My party fund has an insane amount of funds so that is not the issue. Either I am not understanding how this works, or the system is bugged.

I am running RealWorld mod, but I have modded it slightly more. The file is too large (10mb). The .res-file that is also too large (35 mb).

... so I sent it via email but in a .rar-file. I hope that works.

I loaded your save game but no election was about to happen soon. So I couldn't test it effectively.

Thus I started a new game and ran for election and I was able to win in a race with two candidates (including the one from my political party). So the election system is not bugged.

You can download my save game from https://caplab.b-cdn.net/savegames/CanWinElection.rar You can let the game run for a couple months and you will win the election without doing anything.
