Mayor Auto Adjust Civic Building issue

Post by eleaza »

I was trying the new patch and found out if I turn on mayor Auto Adjust Civic Building budget option, and there are 2 civic buildings of the same type, then the mayor will mess up the budget and set supply/demand index to extremely low, and lower the quality of life in a very short time. If auto adjust for AI mayors is also so bad, no wonder so many cities have issues with quality of life. (There are 2 cities with less than 30 support rating in the first election)

(if I manually tune it back up, after a few days, the mayor will drop it again and again regardless)

BTW, is it intentional to make every firm with less workers than in the core game? I've seen 1 worker per unit in small firms, 2 workers in medium, and at most 4 workers per unit in large ones. Compared to 24 workers in one unit in released version, the training level of every firm in CES DLC is extremely easy and fast (like reaching level 9 within 2 to 3 years, without extensive training, and its capacity is about the same as in the core game)

Yes, it is intentional, to make it easier to make profits in the cities with smaller population.

These new city workers must have worked their heads off to be this productive.

This makes an interesting strategies though, to put manufacturing in new found city, stops its growth, and level them up very quickly with very few expenses, but high productivity.

How about the Mayor Auto Adjust Civic Building issue? will it be fixed in the next patch? Or should it be always tuned manually by players? I don't mind, but I feel a lot more players who don't have the taste for micromanagement will go crazy if they have do this for all the cities.

I was thinking, maybe a mechanism similar to COO, where AI mayor could hire some kind of management team and given more options for auto management options perhaps? That would be cool and interesting. And more expenses for the city. Like adjusting upgrade budget, not just percentage of supply/demand index, adjust coverage with city layout planner, even pollution control that sort of thing.
