Is there really much of a game in Cap Lab for real estate?

Post by City Builder »

I sometimes overlook things and this could be one of those times.

I setup a new custom game and decided to be a real estate corporation. But I'm just not seeing the game in it. I am the leader in real estate and I place real estate where ever the cities are showing that it's lacking but the profits are very slow and I'm just not seeing the "game" aspect as I do with retail and manufacturing.

Am I just missing something really good here or there really isn't much "game" when it comes to real estate in Capitalism Lab?

oh profits are very high in real estate, as you have to see that you build the real estate with money you dont have therefore your return on equity gonna be quite good and stable.
also not to mention the ammount of profit you gonna make by increase of book value (land buildings) this will be the mayor profit whilest building. therefore you could if done correctly build your whole estate empire with 0$ and have a ton cash sitting in ya wallet after you build it all up and no loans. when i did play mainly real estate i got to 200-300 million anual profit easily within a few years (thats the profit on rent only) but an anual netprofit of a few billion due to increase in asset value
i doubt that raising a 10 million startup company to 6 billion within 4 or 5 years is a bad profit. you not gonna be able to make it to 6 billion without real estate, probably the fastest growing business in whole caplab ofcourse in a later stage (after 30-40 years) you not gonna be able to pull the profits a manufacturing company can pull due to the limits of housing demand+supply
