The below screenshot shows a real state focused corporation raking in decent profits.

On the mini-map, the natural resources mode now also shows the ownership of any land plots that have been acquired by companies.

Here is the help message for the mode button:

You may also notice that:
On the mini-map window, there is also a new icon for toggling the display of apartments and commercial buildings on the city view. If the city is too crowded with apartment and commercial buildings, you may hide them to get a better view of other business buildings.

We have run several games and observed the performances of AI companies focusing on real estate development.

It is interesting to see that they ended up generating lots of revenues from their retail stores that they has the exclusive rights to build in the new residential area they own. (Other AI companies are not allowed to build there due to the land ownership)

In the below screen, you can see that the AI is getting almost the same amounts of profits from retail sales as from rental incomes.

So this can be an interesting new strategy in the new version.

Below are the latest screenshots of the Apartment and Commercial Building interfaces.

The implementation of the Apartment and Commercial Building is basically completed and the AI is capable building them too.


Commercial Building Attributes:
Distance to CBD
o The shorter the distance to central business district(CBD), the higher this rating is.

Commuting Convenience
o A high commuting convenience rating means that there are residential buildings nearby and the commuting distance is short.

This just looks fantastic -- heh, though, the way the AI (Shining Star) has set up its part of Shanghai over 50 years is somehow reminiscent of the Foxconn facility, a self-contained mini-city. Can we send in Frontline to do an expose?
