Suggestion: Board of Directors & CEO Voting System

I think the CEO system could be made much more dynamic by introducing a Board of Directors instead of determining control only by the percentage of shares owned.

The basic idea would be:

1. Share ownership

- Shareholders with around 5%+ voting shares could qualify to participate in corporate governance or nominate a board member.
- Owning more shares would give the player more potential board seats and voting power.
- 50%+ would still provide very strong economic control, but would not necessarily be the only way to control the company.

2. Board of Directors
Each company would have a board based on its size.
Board members could represent major shareholders, founders, institutional investors, or independent directors.

3. CEO election
The CEO would be elected by the Board.

For example:

«Player owns 35%
Rival owns 25%
Other shareholders own 40%»

Neither player automatically becomes CEO. They need to obtain enough votes from the Board.

4. Corporate/Social Influence

The player would have a Corporate Influence score that affects their ability to gain support.

Influence could be affected by:

- Company performance
- Previous success as CEO
- Reputation
- Shareholder returns
- Dividend policy
- Major strategic decisions
- Relationships with executives and directors

5. Individual relationships

Each director could have an opinion of the player:

«John Smith — Support: 80%
Maria Chen — Support: 65%
Robert Miller — Support: 20%»

The player could build relationships and negotiate with directors.

For example:

- Change dividend policy
- Support a director's proposal
- Offer a board position
- Change company strategy
- Make concessions
- Build alliances with other shareholders

6. Different shareholder interests

Different shareholders could have different priorities:

- Institutional investors → stability and long-term growth
- Activist investors → restructuring and higher returns
- Founders → maintaining influence and company identity
- Short-term investors → share price and dividends

This could create real corporate politics.

The important distinction

Shares = Economic Power

Board votes + relationships + reputation = Political/Corporate Power

This means a player with 30% of the shares could potentially become CEO by building strong support within the Board, while a shareholder with 45% could potentially lose the CEO position if they lose the support of the directors.

I think this could make takeovers, CEO changes, shareholder conflicts, alliances and corporate governance much more interesting, especially in large corporations.

It would also fit very well with the idea of the player being an individual/businessman rather than simply controlling companies through share ownership.
