Feature preview – Luxury Goods

Post by David »

💎 Build Your Fortune. Then Spend It Like a Billionaire.

With the Luxury Goods system in the Billionaire Life DLC for Capitalism Lab, your personal wealth can become a lifestyle of its own.
🏎️ Collect supercars
🛥️ Own luxury yachts
✈️ Acquire private jets
💰 Hunt for increasingly expensive and exclusive models
🏆 Compete for limited-edition luxury goods before they sell out

But luxury isn't just about showing off.

Your collection increases Lifestyle Satisfaction, which can improve your character's effective skills. And you can even gift luxury goods to other characters to strengthen relationships and improve their attitude toward you.

There’s a catch, though: luxury goods lose some of their satisfaction value as they age. Buying duplicates won't help either — only one of each model counts.

So what's your strategy?
Build the biggest collection? Chase rare limited editions? Or use luxury gifts to win over the people you need?

I’m really excited about this new DLC.

One thing I’d like to suggest is including more expensive items—like those costing 46 million or 250 million—so that acquiring them feels like a real achievement. It’s good to have lower-priced items, but at a certain point in the game—say, by the year 2050—you’re already making so much money that an extra challenge would be great. Perhaps artworks could carry those price tags I mentioned, since applying that to other categories might not be feasible due to the satisfaction mechanics.

Will there still be new releases around the year 2080?

Up to what year is the game set to feature new releases?

I'm glad that you like it.

There is an old forum post suggesting other collectible luxury items: https://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7109

The post suggests:
o Classic Cars
o Collectible Coins
o Rare Watches
o Rare Weapons
o Rare Books
o Horses
o Hunting Trophies
o Rare Wine Vintages

Do you like any of these ideas?

There needs to be a Huge going maintenance to keep these luxury items, it should not be just one time purchase.
