Hi people! I'm currently making a grungy/sepia skin for the game. Feel free to make any suggestions or critiques, I'll gladly take any opinion!
I added some boxes around the blue parts of the skin I haven't been able to modify yet. I'm struggling to find the files to edit these parts, so if anyone knows which ones they are, feel free to tell me!

Re: Grunge/Sepia Skin (Work in progress)
Thanks for your effort in creating a new custom theme for Capitalism Lab.
Those images you were looking for are likely to be in .ICN and .COL formats.
I just replied your forum post regarding them at: https://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewt ... 451#p46451
The .ICN and .COL files originate from the original Capitalism 2. The tools used to create these formats are very old and no longer run on the current version of Windows.
The development team has been gradually replacing these legacy assets with new PNG files whenever an interface is updated. For example, in the upcoming post-release beta version, the Manufacturer Guide will receive a UI upgrade, and all new interface elements will be in PNG format. Once that version is released, you’ll be able to modify the Manufacturer Guide’s UI image files.
I have forwarded your note about the Dollar sign icon to the dev team and they will change it to PNG format in a future version.

Re: Grunge/Sepia Skin (Work in progress)
Thank you for replying, David! I even tried to use someone's tool made for capitalism 2 that allows one to edit the ICN files, but it didn't work, probably because of win 11.David wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 6:13 am Thanks for your effort in creating a new custom theme for Capitalism Lab.

That's great news, knowing the dev team is working on replacing the old format. Looking forward to the newer versions!

In the latest version 12.0.21, the icon for opening the financial report on the firm detail window has been changed from .ICN files to PNG files.
You can download the latest version 12.0.21 from https://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10561

I found some other parts of the game I'm still not able to change, but I'll be waiting for new updates as the dev team slowly produces the PNG files. Working on the ICN files is too much work, so I'll be waiting patiently to build the skin little by little.

Here is a script to batch import/export. Paste into text editor, change your source and destination to preferred location and then save as .ps1

Code: Select all

if (-not (Test-Path $destinationFolder)) {
