1. Allow Supermarkets to Sell Flowers
Most real-world supermarkets sell flowers.
Adding flowers as a retail item in supermarkets would:
Improve realism and immersion
Offer more flexibility in product mix
Make flower farms and imports more viable
Currently, flowers can only be sold in florist stores. This change would better reflect modern retail operations.
2. Add Tobacco Products to Supermarkets
Supermarkets often sell tobacco products in restricted sections.
Adding tobacco as a regulated item (like liquor) would:
Enhance realism
Expand late-game product variety
Optional age restriction could be tied to difficulty settings
3. Make City Competitiveness Stats Have Gameplay Effects
Cities have category scores (e.g. flowers, fruits, livestock), but they currently have no effect.
Proposal:
If a city has a high competitiveness score (e.g., 90+) in a category, then:
Local demand for those products increases
Bonus revenue or brand effect is applied when players exceed quality expectations in that category
This would reward players who align their business with the city’s strengths, adding strategic depth and variety across regions.
Summary
Add flowers and tobacco to supermarkets for realism and flexibility
Let city competitiveness scores affect demand and reward high product quality
→ A low-development-cost improvement that boosts both immersion and gameplay depth

From what I understand flowers are not in the standard game so I am not sure what you mean by having them in Supermarkets.
In the case of Tobacco, yeah I do often see cigarettes being sold in supermarkets so I think it makes sense to sell them there.
