Rent-free for Own Stores has no effect

Hi,
From what I've seen the Rent-free for Own Stores option has no effect on commerical buildings. With the option on or off the retail stores in my commercial buildings pay no rent. The same thing happens if I own the building or my subsidiary does. I haven't tested if the malls or apartments have the same problem.

Please be informed that this option only affects shopping malls, as shown in its help text.

Stores in your own apartments and commercial buildings are always rent free.

That also makes sense as well given that stores opened in your own buildings don't incur an opportunity cost (i.e the computer player can't build inside your building and there is no additional maintenance cost for a store outside of the normal store cost).

Aha, thanks for pointing this out! Then I missunderstood how this was meant to be implemented.
In my current game I wanted my retail company to pay rent to my real estate company and I was confused about why no rent was paid.
