Tech-focused AI Companies
There will be AI companies focusing on technology development. They will only set up and operate R&D centers focusing on a specific industry. The founder and CEO typically possesses expertise in the industry.

Their goal is to research technology superior to competitors, which will increase the value of the Intangible Asset (Technology) on their corporate balance sheets. The increased balance sheet will allow them to raise capital from the stock market by way of issuing new shares.

They are eager to sell their technologies to interested companies and generate revenues to fund their R&D operations. Their customers will be those companies who find it more cost effective to buy technologies than doing the research on their own. This also provide a springboard for latecomer companies to quickly catch up with the competition on technology.

Tech-focused AI may ultimately decide to manufacture and roll out products on their own using their leading technologies. Years of research they have invested into the technologies will give them advantages in competing for market shares.

These tech-focused AI can also be targets of acquisitions by larger corporations and may end up being assimiliated into a larger corporation group.

From the perspective of stock traders, the stock prices of tech-focused companies can be very violatile as they have to stay ahead of the competition in terms of technology leadership or they will lose their competitive advantages and market values quickly.

The player is now able to offer to acquire tech from the CEO’s office in Headquarters.
Previously, you are required to hire a Chief Technology Offer in your CTO office in order to acess the menu for acquiring technologies from other companies. Now you can do the same in your CEO office without having to hire a CTO.

News about technology acquisitions
Technology acquistions will now make the news and you can see all technology related news about your company or any particular company under the History page of your Corporate Detail Report.

Technology Breakthrough
Tech-focused companies will experience technology breakthroughs from time to time. When a technology breakthrough occurs, the R&D project will be finished instantly with 10-30 points higher than the original tech level target.

For those tech-oriented companies it might be good that their RD projects would be transparent always (not 'confidential' as competitor RDs have been I think), so that a company who intends to buy their tech, doesn't accidentally buy it just a few days before a 10-year, 9-unit RD project finishes on that exact product from the same seller RD company. I'm not sure if this is an issue even without that transparency-- The price to buy tech two times in such situation might lead into a lower price on the second buy because at least the buyer did catch up on the tech on the moment of first purchase and so the new breakthrough isn't that far off = less expensive.

Interesting. Hopefully there wont be too many tech companies out there, as it seems like it would be quite a niche market to research and provide techs.

The corporate income statement has been updated with a new row showing the R&D expenses, allowing you to more effectively analyze the cost structure of your company.

Another new row added to the corporate income statement is "Donation to Public Facilities". When you build community buildings or sports facilities, the building costs will go to this account. You are required to partially fund the operating costs of the public facilities that you donated to build, which is reflected in this account as well.

Is there any plan for other focused AI companies? Such as oil industry, mining, or even Car and other industries. This way not only players need to compete with major corporates in the field but also small local focused ones with possibly high technology advantage.
