Re: Mouse Lag
I just downloaded the most recent version and now have the same issue. I did not check if it occured in the previous beta build that I had. The mouse behaves like a controller with a deadzone, where if you move it too slow, it does not register the movement at all. However if you speed up to a certain amount, it moves again and jumps to where the mouse actually is. Would it be possible to implement a non-software cursor, basically using the windows cursor in windowed mode instead of the one from the software might fix the problem. Some older games offer this option.

Does the problem occur in both windowed mode and full screen mode?UsF wrote:I just downloaded the most recent version and now have the same issue. Re: Mouse Lag
In windowed mode, it happens as described. In fullscreen mode, the mouse slows down and then stops at a later date (when moving even slower), but it feels like mouse acceleration sets in at the point where the mouse would stop moving in windowed mode. Basically both things make the game unplayable for me, because the mouse doesn't behave as it should and clicking on specific things is difficult

Re: Mouse Lag
The problem occurs in windowed mode the most. The slowdown of the mouse also happens in full screen, but not as dramatic. It is however too bad to be playable in any of the situations.
On windowed mode, the mouse position does not refresh correctly, it still moves normally below the program. Once you move the mouse above a certain speed, it refreshes in the software correctly.
It happens in the release version post beta and also beta 1971 from 2012 which worked fine previously. I did get a new mouse during that time, a G9x Lasermouse with software. Do not know how that would influence the movement in the software if the movement on the desktop is fine though.

Its a bit of a long shot, and I stopped using Windows a few years ago nowUsF wrote:happens in the release version post beta and also beta 1971 from 2012 which worked fine previously. But do you have a custom mouse pointer?
From what I recall, the simple Windows pointers can be done using hardware acceleration in the GPU, whereas if you choose custom cursors (including some of those built into Windows like 3d shaded ones), its done in software. This could possibly affect the rendering speed especially once Cap is trying to capture the mouse and paint its own.
Like I say, its a long shot....

Re: Mouse Lag
No I use the default mouse pointers, however when mousing over the Capitalism Lab window or when in fullscreen, you get a software cursor. I assume that the handling of the cursor might be causing problems, because under the hood(window), the mouse cursor moves smoothly. It is just the window refreshing the position of the software cursor not accurately enough.
I tried different mouse pointer customization options (none, Windows-Aero, Windows-Standard large) all to no different effect on the behavior in-game.
