Word. *sigh*. For me, that's 3 retrospectively unpleasant experiences for the 3 games I've preordered (NFSW, GW2). Sometimes I just shake my head. For $5 I could have gotten about 7 more games.

This is not true. I think the sites you looked at could be one of those sites that offer the free trial versions where you could play the game for free for 1 hour or so and then you have to decide whether you want to buy the game or discontinue playing it.
