Question regarding Fashion Venture ?

Post by Norljus »

Where does all the the money go during the 5 year waiting period ? There shouldn't be that many expenses and the income statement doesn't list any expenses.

The cash amount is reduced due to Inverse inflation described in https://www.capitalismlab.com/new-features/inflation/

When the "Inverse Inflation" mode is enabled, cash loses its purchasing power over time due to inflation. This is reflected through the Purchasing Power Index, which starts at 100% and decreases during periods of inflation. As a result, the actual value of cash and loan amounts shrinks in accordance with this index. If no investments are made, you will see a direct reduction in your cash amount, emphasizing the impact of inflation on liquid assets. Unlike cash, the value of land and resource assets remains unaffected by this mode.

It is as described above the Inverse Inflation system. I must admit when this first saw this I didn't know what was going on either, especially since money lost to inflation does not appear on the Balance Sheet/Income Statement. Perhaps it might be useful to include a note on this scenario indicating that money would be lost to inflation.
"You have been trying to raise capital for your fashion startup for years. Unfortunately, the fund raising process has been difficult and slow and what funding you have secured is being lost to inflation in the meantime.

When you eventually succeed in launching your own fashion company (which is expected to happen 5 years after the game has started), there will be established competitors in the market.

Do you have what it takes to carve out a niche with your new fashion brand and thrive in the market?"

Version 11.0.75 has changed the inflation setting of Fashion Venture scenario from Inverse Inflation mode to Normal Inflation mode.

Seems like this fix didn't made it into the 11.0.75 patch (inflation still Inverse after applying the patch), but only in the full installer.

Thanks for checking it.

The patch has been re-uploaded, including the updated scenario script for Fashion Venture. Please download the same patch file again.
