QOL suggestions:

Be able to set prices across all cities/firms based on a target overall rating. Often this involves some micro management (theoretically a COO can do this for you but they also do useless stuff like add more sales units of a product that already has a sales unit in that shop filling it up with excess supply in warehouses and mess up my layout arrangements). If I can just set a target rating for all my shops later game when I own market share and have high brand quality I end up needing a ton of micro management here

Bulk add products (would be nice if I can add a product to all stores of a certain kind). I tend to end up needing to do it one by one or to speed it up I build a layout with 4 purchase/sales for each floor all at once at the start of the construction which hits cash flow

New concept:

Bundled sales: Often I see potential to bundle related products together, example video games with consoles as a bundle, certain food combos, fruits and vegetables, jewelry and watches, cars with wheels and auto parts/motor oil.

This could be a new in game unit that requires you wire up multiple sales units of different products in the same shop and will basically sell a bundle at a fixed price you choose. It can show up on the product list menu, and lets you do interesting combinations (its also a cool idea imo to bundle an elastic demand product with inelastic demand to force things you have a monopoly on to result in you buying say a cell phone and also a tablet). Maybe one segment has fierce competition and access to this unique product tips your customers to buy yours over the competition's. Would require potentially some ability to decide if bundle is only way to buy those products or you can buy individual pieces. Can also offer a discount over the base price of individual items to stimulate the demand a bit.

2. Discount sales/flash sale: As stated, could be a special promotion type that ensures for a fixed period a special sale is available. Requires spending on advertising for this flash sale to promote it to customers, but could result in higher turnover and could be used to sell excess supply at cheaper prices to get rid of inventory that is lower quality/not as good as your newer products

Even cooler if you can combine bundles and flash sales.

Could be a flat discount on all items in a shop, a tiered discount like buy 1000$ get 50$ back, buy 500$ get a variable discount from 3-10% etc

3. Spokesperson branded advertiser: Unlike advertising, here you sign a contract with a spokesperson that has a fixed brand value and they immediately bump your brand value based on their current brand recognition so its like leasing a temporary brand boost. As your brand grows theirs will too, and vice versa, so its a short cut to get high brand at a high cost, but negotiations can be like salary and specializations for industries can exist as well. Most importantly, your spokes person can be poached from competition to hurt their brand and raise your own.

4. Proactive licensing: Would be cool to have a way to attempt to sell tech to competitors. Sometimes I get a monopoly but its actually impossible to see that competitor catch up, if I want to just own upstream inputs chain vs the downstream product and nurture them into a dependent that i control via monopoly of upstream assets, i can't do so. Would be cool if I can approach people and attempt to sell licenses to my tech and create competitors that i can cultivate with upstream controls

5. Product launch conference: A one off marketing event that results in a short term boost of brand awareness that will fade within 4 weeks time, used only to hype up new technology advancements or new products that don't exist and quickly understand market demand as well as boost brand awareness temporarily. Can happen on every new customization launching in market.

6. Live streamer commissioned sales: Just like today a very large industry exists where live streamers promote sales of products in return for a commission, it would be interesting if you can have another internet service based on live streaming that allows you to market specific products that will get promoted, its a type of e-commerce but its also promotional advertising at the same time and can pair with bundles and flash sale promotions in my opinion.

I would recommend that you create a poll for your suggestions to gauge the community's interest in it. There would be a higher chance that the dev team will implement it if the interest level is high.

Do you have any suggestions about how the UI for this will look like?

Establishing a target rating does sound like an interesting idea. Not so sure about the other ideas as they all seem needlessly complicated and might invite a lot of micromanagement.

In terms of where in the UI it might go I think just under prices would probably do the trick, making it look similar to setting the price:

Personnally I would prefer a target rating with the average rating the reference, like setting to 0 would try to match the competitors average rating, +2 would try to always have avg rating + 2 and so on ?

My thought here was to add the target rating in the product details page when you double click and see a product in various cities and you can set the price for that product in shops you own and set it to all shops to have same price ffor a given city, something like a target rating in that UI on bottom right is what I imagined. I think that place makes sense because you can do it in bulk

As other said I think ideally you can set it to some delta against locals or competitors but i think if you did it this way then it may infinite loop lower as your own market share lowers average, so I'd avoid doing average based deltas.

Alternatively just setting a target overall rating seems reasonable as well imo that way as your own ratings improve from brand improvements and quality improvements you can auto adjust prices upwards vs manually waiting.

It would be better to be able to set the target as "the average of the others plus the offset".
