Hi,
How do I sell a stock of a privatized company held by my privatized subsidiary?
I wanted to buy two privatized companies, X and Y
After buying X, I can no longer buy Y because it turns out that X had shared in Y even thought both were privatized.
Is it even possible to get rid of the held stock in order to buy company Y or any work around to solve this? Currently this seems impossible without loading a save from 3 years prior and buying company Y first, which sucks.
I dont even know how this was made possible, I believe Y previously merged with a company by giving own shares instead of cash which made the privatized company X a shareholder of privatized company Y.

You should be able to just IPO the private company and from there you can buy/sell their shares on the stock market:
If you own 100% you can then privatise them as well:

I can not IPO a company I do not control, if I could, that would be a solution indeed.
I want to sell shares held by my privatized subsidiary of a company that I do not control and is private.
I want to buy Kellogs, I cant because the previous company I bought has unsellable shares of that private company.

Re: how to sell shares of privatized company?
Is this a case of:
Company 1 is privately owned by you and you have >75% shares. You control Company 1.
Company 1 owns shares in Company 2, which is considered private, but somehow Company 1 does not own at least 75% shares?
I am not sure how that's possible to be honest.
Or maybe I am misunderstanding.

Yes, exactly that!!Stylesjl wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 8:53 am Is this a case of:

I was thinking how this could be possible, I see that Company 2 has previously merged with a company3, I believe that Company1 previously owned shares in Company3 that was merged into Company2, not by paying cash but by giving their own private shares to all stockholders of Company3, thus resulting in Private Company1 owning shares in Private Company2.
Private companies should not be able to merge by paying with own stock as these shares are non sellable, if this is prevented then this scenario cant happen.
