Does "Stock and Bond Return" account on the income statement need to be changed?

It is fine currently.

It should be separate into 2 accounts "Bond interests" and "Bond and Stock Return". Bond interest payments should have a separate account on the income statement.

Bond interest payments on the income statement

Post by David »

Currently bond interest payments are registered in "Stock and Bond Return" account on the income statement.

It combines 1) the bond interests you received, 2) the gain/loss of the market values of the bonds you own 3) the the gain/loss of the market values of the stocks you own.

Do you think this needs to be changed?

Hi David,

I Think a lot of people Will chose this option :

It should be separate into 3 accounts "Bond interests", "Bond return", and "Stock Return".

he reason why is that the income statement is the best place to évaluate your financial décision . So having these seperate , will give us a better assessement of the choices we make and makes it easer the change stratégies.
