3.1.02 Sub Management Policy Errors

Post by Arcnor »

In the new version of the game I've set up a new sub and have set the expansion strategies for the sub not to expand in production, in retail, in media, etc..

I basically don't want the CEO to do anything.

However, I've noted that the sub has built factories and set up mines even though the setting have been set not to expand into anything.

We will investigate the problem.

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know which of your subsidiary has this issue?

Did you set the management policies under corporate details and verified the ceo policies are set to match.

I acquired an existing company with my stock focus company, hired new CEO and verified setting was stock focus and not to expand. However the existing operations needed some semi-products so the CEO built a mine which I think I'd a good thing.

I have set the settings for them not to expand into anything, however I did transfer a few factories to them. The CEO is then building factories to produce one of the semi products that goes into the product their factory is producing. I don't want them to do that though because I have another sub that is building all the semi products. Perhaps then it has to do with the new supply setting. If I set this to a high tolerance perhaps the sub will stop. I'll try that and see what happens.

Go to the factory in the other company is producing the semi-product that this subsidiary needs and click Group (across from internal sale), close down their semi-product factory and see if the sub buys from the other sub instead.

They already have been purchasing the semi products from the other sub via exactly the method you described. It just simply decided to start building the semi product itself. What's also interesting is the fact that each time the sub would build new mines to produce the resource even though other AI companies were selling the products.

That's odd.

Did you turn off the Backward Integration option (see the attached screenshot)?

Yes I turned that off as well.

I finally was able to get the sub to stop when I set the settings for the CEO to not look for better supplies and set the tolerance for low supplies to be really high.

Ive started a new game in the new version and will continue to test this.
