Fixed the dividend payment bug.

Version 2.7.19
Bug fixes

Version 2.7.18
Bug fixes

Version 2.7.17
New Features
1) 4 new scenarios. There are now a total of 15 scenarios in the game.

2) New COO Policy – freight cost concern. If it is set to high, when selecting a supplier, the freight cost will be a very important factor for the AI to consider. If it is set to low, the freight cost will not be a major factor to consider.

3) The game will now automatically generate descriptions for firms.

4) Added a firm description field for apartments and commercial buildings.

5) Increased the maximum number of AI competitors from 30 to 40.

6) New portraits

7) Revamped Farmer’s Guide and improved Manager’s Guide

8) Added a button on the in-game menu for opening the hotkey list web page.

9) Support for MOD banners. See this web page for details: http://www.capitalismlab.com/how-to-make-a-mod.html or the instructions below.

Create a banner for your MOD.

• The banner image should be in PNG file format.
• The size should be 750 x 125 pixels.
• The file name of the banner should be the same as the MOD file, with ".PNG" file extension. e.g. If your MOD file is called "MyMOD.RES", then your MOD banner image file should be named as "MyMOD.PNG".

10) Randomly Disable Product Classes

When playing a game that uses a user-created MOD, you may find the level of competition to be too low due to the large variety of products in the MOD.

In such cases, we recommend you to use this new option for excluding a certain percentage of product classes from the game. It will make the competition more intense, thus improving gameplay.

See details at:
http://www.capitalismlab.com/randomly-d ... asses.html

11) A new set of goals called the “King of Capitalism” goals will be automatically assigned to a custom game if you haven’t assigned any goals manually on the new game setting menu.

It is a set of highly challenging goals. So if the player finds it too difficult, the player may simply disregard it and play the game as a normal open-end game, and it won’t affect the gameplay or penalize the score in any way.

12) MOD supports customization of certain building images in the game.
See these web pages for details:

Modding existing buildings:
http://www.capitalismlab.com/advanced-m ... dings.html

Add new buildings:
http://www.capitalismlab.com/advanced-m ... dings.html

13) Added shortcut CTRL-S key to quick-save the current game into “QuickSave.SAV” file.

14) A new "Redirect Clients" button will be available on the Sales Unit interface of firms that supply raw materials or products to other firms.

If any of your other firms have broken supply links which requires the same item that this Sales unit is selling, you may use this button to redirect the supply link to the current Sales unit.

For instance, your mine’s reserve has exhausted, and you have just built a new mine, then you may use this button to redirect supply links to the new mine.

Bug Fixes
-A bug with the save game menu where the portrait and logo display may be incorrect when a MOD is in used. –
-Fixed various display issues with localized text.
-http://www.capitalismlab.com/forum/view ... =21&t=2430
-http://www.capitalismlab.com/forum/view ... 292#p11292
-Fixed the display problem of building name text on the city map building, when using Asian language localization.
-Improved the performance of the Firms report when there is a large number of firms in the game.

Gameplay Balance Improvement
-Decreased the salaries of executive officers by half.

I'm getting frequent crashes with this version.

Starting a new game, and pressing "Custom Game" when I have JASM mod active causes a crash every time.

Later, playing a game with no mods, the game crashed when I clicked on a news item to goto a retail store that had lost its supply of an item.

I also had another crash, but it was my first one of the version so I wasn't paying attention to the circumstances. Basically, I haven't been able to play for longer than 10 - 15 minutes without a crash, and I never had any crashes on previous versions I played in the past. (Which was several months ago, for me.)

I'm having more issues as well, I started a quick game with limited product classes, just to see what the AI did, and it seems their farms are not moving processed products into their Sales units.

They also just don't seem very interested in producing anything. There's a million retail stores trying to sell the products available at the commercial port, but nobody is manufacturing their own products. (Except for the Farms being built, which aren't moving any processed products into their sales units.)

I was playing while writing this, and had another crash when I clicked on a news item saying I had lost supply of an item in my retail store.

1) Did the crashes come with any error messages or just crashes to the desktop without any messages?

2) If there are error messages, could you please capture the screenshots and post them here so that we can investigate the problems?

3) What is the previous version you were using prior to upgrading to this version? Is it version 2.6.x or 2.5.x?

3) My previous version seems to have been 2.5.13, so it's been a while since I last played. ;-)

1) They all have some sort of pop up box with some sort of message, I can try to re-produce them and take screenshots!

2) This is the one that occurs every time I try to click "Custom Game" with the JASM mod loaded: http://i.imgur.com/ucjpoO1.jpg

This one occured when I pressed the 5 key in order to unpause the game and switch to max speed: http://i.imgur.com/ESVVsJQ.jpg

That same Town::town_item() error happened again on a reload, except this time it occured when I heard the "DONG!" sound of a news item, but I was in a window, so was not able to see what the news item was. It was likely either a product of mine becoming unavailable, or an AI company going out of business.

EDIT: This error happened once again, when a news item sound played, though I was in a firm screen so again was unable to see what the news item was, but it was not the "DONG!" sound, it was one of the other news sound indicators.

I love this game, so am happy to help as much as I can. :D

Okay, so I decided to try turning off "Randomly Disable Product Classes" to see if that was causing the problem, and I have not had a single crash in 33 years of game-time, so I'm thinking that option may be the problem that was causing my crashes.

There are some major file changes since version 2.5.13. The old files exist in the folder which caused the error. To resolve this problem, please manually delete all files in the Capitalism Lab folder and install the latest Release version again.

(Under this circumstance, it requires manually delete all files in the Capitalism Lab folder instead of simply running the uninstall program, because the uninstall program will only uninstall files from 2.7.x but not the old files from 2.5.x)

----------

For JASM, are you using this version (see below link) that is compatible with 2.7.x?

We will investigate the problem.

Could you please provide us with your save game file that has the town_item() error?

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from the C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

If you are using the Post-release Beta version of Capitalism Lab, the folder would be:
C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab Post-Release Beta\SAVE

You may provide us with your save game file by posting it here on the forum as a ZIP file attachment or email the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

Thanks

could install it but cant start the game, getting error message that its not a 32 bit version.
is it 64 bit only?
would really like to try the new release as the 2.6.38 is randomly crashing on a permanent basis when entering/leaving a firm usually.

have win xp 32bit on my windows machine just for games. not gonna buy any other micro(soft)trash versions

I just tested it with Windows 7 32 bit and it ran well.

The game was built to run on both 32 bit and 64 bit.

As for Windows XP, we did build it with Windows XP compatibility. Are you using Windows XP with the latest service pack?

What is the exact error message you got?
