What if we have a Line for average cost on stock market ?

I'm really confused about average cost,
because it changes all the time after you sell !!？
Average cost shouldn't change after sell,
it should change after buy only !
What if we have a Line for average cost on stock market ?
(better make it optional by a tick box it or...)
