I like to play football manager and cycling manager and I think sport franchises would be a great addition to the game.

• This could be limited to major sports (football basketball cycling etc)

• This could work a bit like banks HQ, like you can only have one per sport, they would be funded by sponsoring & advertising

• Required Building would depend on the sport, like football needs a stadium whereas cycling needs training HQ etc

• Sport results would be based on tech development (think moneyball approach) and financial power (Man City) but in a random way (like richer club doesn't necessarily win but is favorite to win the league)

• Then, we could have the goals linked to the sports franchise results like win the league x times / reach some valuation for the club etc

• We could have coaching persons that influence the results and profitability

• That could introduce other products like more sport equipments and also another service type as betting shops

Not sure if that should be a full DLC or just incorporated into the game but I'd be happy to buy the DLC if enough complexity and that might attract new players

Please vote and give some arguments for or against (for preferably!) or possible extensions I forgot

This might work for a new DLC.

Basically you could have a national or local (city) sport in a certain category (Football, Tennis, etc) that would initially be owned by the city or a private company (or you could found a sports team yourself).

Your team would need a coach and talent, much like the Digital DLC talent required for software (researching the software tech and then Programming/Management). Talent should be acquired before your competitors (or you could headhunt from rivals).

Your teams would then need a place to compete, in a stadium or training facilities owned by you, another company or the city. A company could make money just from hosting sports games or training facilities without owning a team themselves.

Sports matches would have a certain probability of being won/lost or being a draw with the probability influenced by training/talent.

If a team consistently wins more matches than they lose they can draw in more revenue and expand their brand recognition, allowing them to sell stadium advertising/viewing rights/merchandise. However winning teams will also have their sports stars demanding more money.
