Elections and spending

Hi All,
I may have missed it, but is there a limit of 1 term on a mayor?
I don't seem to be able to get to the election screen with the spending allocation when nominations come up once I have nominated a party member whilst holding the Mayorship.
I'm playing this DLC for probably the 5th time, and after a while not initially being able to find a way to spend/influence the elections, I found the guide on the website and found it on a reload of a save game. Since then, I don't seem to be able to have the spending allocations screen show for even the competitors when elections come up again. I even resorted to selecting a new candidate, but still, it didn't show.
I came off a base of 60% approval, and seemed to hold above 50% for the year of campaigning, but didn't win, nor could I change spending on it.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what you are referring to as I don't have a screenshot. But if you untick both buttons in this menu (Mayor History and Election Results) you will get the current election details.

Does this help? It is a bit strange but typically I just select Political Parties at the bottom of the menu in any case.

Also you can run as many times as you want - you may need to continue funding for your party though as the opposing party will typically try to throw money at you to divert votes away from you.

Thanks Stylesjl, that is what it is. I didn't realise the buttons functioned independently and I was clicking one or the other, and that's why it was reset when I reloaded the save game.
Basic stuff when you realise the issue.
Thanks again
