CapLab version 1.980 patch is now available. We have changed quite a bit of the code this time and the build may be unstable, so we are releasing it as a manual patch initially. Here is the direct download link:
http://www.capitalismlab.com/capserver/ ... 801980.zip
To apply the patch, simply unpack it to your Capitalism Lab program folder.
Your Capitalism Lab is located in C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Capitalism Lab Beta, unless you changed the installation folder on the installer.
If it works well, we will release it as an auto patch subsequently.
(Saved games of the previous versions are not compatible with this new version.)
Bug Fixes, Changes and New Features
Adjusted the time you need to wait before being able to do a new round of issuing new shares.
Stock P/B will not be so low during recessions. (It seems a bit too low in the previous versions)
Media firm assets are more reasonably reflected in the stock stock.
The game will keep the mini map opened while you are asked to close down firms so that you can use the arrow buttons to browse your firms.
Fixed a problem with the auto link supplier.
Added “Warehouse Only” filter to the “Pick Supplier” interface.
The player can only buy or sell stock once a day in a challenge game. The intention is to make it harder for players to make huge profits in the stock market in a challenge game.
Fixed a bug with auto patch download. Your harddisk spcae is low, it won’t download the auto patch. But the calculation of the harddisk space has a bug in the previous versoin so even if your harddisk space is not that low, it may still not download the auto patch.
So if your game still haven’t done auto patch to 1.971, please download the 1.980 when it becomes available and apply it manually.
A new menu for loading a challenge game to play – select “Challenge Game” on the Single Player Game menu.
The implemention of the following new method for account login. You may test and report to us if you experience any abnormalty.
“After further analysis, we came to a conclusion that most people's complaint about DRM is that it restricts the user from installing the game on another computer for more than the number of times allowed (some games may only allow 3 times of machine activation). Connecting to the Internet during playing has been a requirement of Steam since the original Half Life 2 release and Steam's continued dominance of the digital game sale market tells the widespread user acceptance of the practice.
Thus, we have been internal discussing a new method that replaces the activation requirement on a new computer with an off-line mode that allows the player to play the save game for a maximum of one hour in each game session. In offline mode, the game will only load save games that were saved by the same user on the same computer and challenge games and new game setup will not be available in offline mode.
But the new method will allow the user to install CapLab on another computer freely without having to get a new activation code.”
