Game Version:
6.1.03 (and before)
Following lines seems to be ignored.
The AI will do establish those branches with their controlled companies.
I tried only BLOCK_A and then only BLOCK_B and then both blocks
Code: Select all
// BLOCK A
Max AI software and Internet companies=None
Code: Select all
// BLOCK B
Max AI software companies=0
Max AI OS companies=0
Max AI Internet companies=0
some line above of my Script I have set:
Does this overwrite my BLOCKs?
Cheers

OK, I made a test script where I removed all other lines exept:
Code: Select all
// #####
[HEADER]
// #####
Title=Test
Description=Test
and (see above)
- BLOCK_A or
- BLOCK_A_Variant_B, changed 'None' -> '0'
"Max AI software and Internet companies=0"
- BLOCK_B
Result: AI companies DO found software and internet firms.
-> These line are useless
Even in the GUI (6.1.07) the set-up for "Custom Game" in the "DLC" tab for "Digital Age DLC" the
option for "Max AI Software and Internet Companies" [None / Low / Moderate High] and set to "None"
has
NO effect.
I've just read the comment which may is related to my post
http://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewto ... 188#p24049
But this means that the value 'none' has no meaning or is misunderstandable and should be interpreted as:
"do not add more than the DLC already does"

I set up a new game using your script file and the game did start with no companies focused on Internet, software and OS.
Did you get different results?

I just ran a test game using your script for 50+ years. There are still no companies focused on Internet, software and OS by year 2055.
If you still encounter the problem, you may send me your save game for investigation.
You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from the C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE
You may provide us with your save game file by posting it here on the forum as a ZIP file attachment or emailing the save game file to us at

I loaded your save game.
Please be informed that the script file's propose is to designate the numbers of companies focused on Internet, software and OS. But it does not prevent companies with the diversification strategy to enter into the Internet and software industries.

Hey David,
In my game no matter what focus I designate, all the competitors spawn as "Diversified" and they keep building software companies, which I think is closely related to this topic. I also did set all the digital age/banking/insurance competitor numbers to "None."
Do you know why this happens? Here's a part of my script file..
[COMPETITORS]
Number of Competitors=20 ---> MAX COMPETITORS
Retail Focused Companies=10 ---> MIN RETAIL FOCUS
Competitor Start-up Capital=Moderate
AI Expansion Aggressiveness=Very High
AI Pricing Aggressiveness=Moderate
AI Expertise Level=High
AI Tech Head Start=None
Show Competitor Trade Secrets=Yes
AI Friendly Merger=Off
Competence of Local Competitors=Very Low
AI Private Companies Percent=0
