This looks awesome and honestly more excited about this coming DLC than the previous ones. Not saying they weren't good. lol. I've thoroughly enjoyed them, but the key features I'm seeing from this one just have me excited.
When it comes to future DLCs, haven't settled on a great idea that captures my attention yet. I know energy and construction markets are underrepresented, and there's a lot of potential for some focus on transportation of various sorts. I'd personally love something to focus on your actual main character so there's a purpose to giving yourself a salary and how you spend your personal money beyond just buying more stocks or mansions. I'm not sure how much anyone else will care about it though, but I'd personally love something that focused on that.
But happy new year and thanks for all the continuing work!

I want a Minecraft element for your person. Where you can buy a plot of land and build an estate.

I do not see 'Business Insurance' in the available possibilities.
If that were the case, I would have asked if subscribing to insurance was going to be mandatory, allowing for hilarious situations where opponents could drive each other out of business by manipulating prices (on one side) or deliberately having companies (subsidiaries?) going bankrupt (on the other side)...

Maybe the local companies could buy business insurance and the claims could be a number of different things.

what about based on stats. In a city with high unemployment, economic recession, environmental issues and a poor safety net, low education levels, thefts and loses increases thereby affecting the number of claims and during boom times, low unemployment, sufficient safety net etc the number of business claims are lower.

In-game, I do not know, actually, as I am afraid a game-breaking mechanisms allowing for easy money, not to mention dead-straight loopholes. This is a kind of virtual product (risk) which ties manufactured goods with pure finance subjectivity.
However, in reality, business are indeed insured, so introducing insurance in-game by letting businesses on the side would look strange at best...
- It would strip the game from events like theft, fire or local market crashes (black days) as they would be normally (almost completely) absorbed by insurance compensation, reducing the effect of any blow for a fee.
- Insurance is deeply tied to goods: if insurance is mandatory and average price is too high, it would drive the demand for corresponding goods down on the affected sectors, for instance cars in a specific country. That questions if there will be a distinction between optional or mandatory insurance types.
- As noted before, insurance can be manipulated to drive competitors down (manipulating revenue from some goods, inflicting to huge of a fee blow to competitiors profits, driving their stock market price down calling for buyouts). The huge impact those can have, especially if there is no way around insurance or if there is no way to regulate the prices, needs a lot of cases where the SEC or alike should kick in. I do not know the US regulation this game is based on, though.

i think it would be based on the natural disasters, meaning if your building burns down / factory burns down (in this case maybe also 5 years future income) but insurance rate is high, you get insurance money for value, think it could be a simple to add in to the "random events" part of game.
