We have received suggestions from users that they would like to see landmarks in the game.

Attached is a screenshot showing a graphical test of a landmark.

You will be able to unlock new landmarks when you have achieved certain goals such as:
>your approval rating is 70
> your city has capital reserves and no loans or outstanding bonds
>Population is at least 500,000
>GDP per capita is at least 10,000
>you have grown the city’s population by 5% during your tenure
>you have grown the city’s GDP by 10% during your tenure

As for the effect of landmarks, we are still considering various possibilities. If you have any ideas, please feel free to suggest.

Here is another landmark building (Colosseum) that we are going to add to the game.

Would landmarks have positive or negative effects on the surrounding area?

The below screen shows the list of bonus effects that the player can set for a new landmark.

It is still work in progress though and may be changed.

From the couple of landmarks I have had this far they are a very nice addition to the game.

Perhaps landmarks could give more options, say

% reduction in cost price of goods made in the city.
% premium price to goods sold in the city without affecting score of product
£ reduction in media firms content cost in city
% increase on brand score through all media firms in city
% increase in commercial revenues in the city
% reduction in university specialist product in city.

The list really could be endless, but I do like the look of the landmarks and you could really mix and match the benefits to your city
