Customer Traffic
You can now see the customer traffic index of the area where your retail store is located. The index ranges from 0 to 100. Stores located in areas with high customer traffic benefit from greater demands for their prodcuts.

Retail Demand Bonus
A new indicator called Retail Demand Bonus will magnify the effect of customer traffic. So a retail store with high customer traffic and a large retail demand bonus will generate a great deal of demands for its products.

You can increase the Retail Demand Bonus in the following ways:
• Specialty stores focusing on a specific product class are more attractive to customers interested in such products.

• Build more stores of the same store type in the current city.

• Stores in areas with high customer traffic will boost the chain popularity more.

New Retail Strategy
Now you can pursue the new retail strategy of setting up a chain of specialty stores, which will give you a significant advantage over competitors’ individual retail stores. For example, you may set up a chain of Leather Stores in prime shopping areas to increase your chain’s reognition and thus drive more demands to your stores.

Does the 'chain of specialty stores' bonus apply within each city separately, or is the bonus of all cities added together?

In other words if I build five leather stores in one city, is there a bonus already in place for the first built store in another city?

This game more and more makes me think of Sim city, focused on business.

When will a Sim Capitalism, where you could play the city and then toggle to create a business firm and play in the city you were playing as Mayor ?

That would be awesome !

Even if your idea is OK it would change the game's perpective from a company's point of view in so many ways. In my opinion I consider that Capitalism 2 is already a complex game with so many opportunities that you will not get bored(frustrated at first untill you understand the game, yes; but NEVER bored :p). I've been playing it for so many years I can't remember :D

Hi David

Will there be a display somewhere where the total city traffic index is displayed?
That way we have an idea of how much of the city we are covering

You can view the mini-map in the land value mode. Areas of higher land values have higher volumes of customer traffic.

See the screenshot below.

No benefits from having a corporate brand, or high demand for your products to help drive sales in other cities?

Lets say I make a very good product. Top of the line, with the highest quality, if I sell that product in one city with great success and decide to open up shop in another city, why wouldn't my success from the first city help the demand in other cities?
