In the new version, you will be able to move factories. This is especially useful when the land occupied by your factories has appreciated significantly in value after years of city development. The original land you bought cheaply for building the factories can now be used to build retail stores, apartments and commercial buildings, for better financial returns.

How expensive would it be to move a factory?

How about taxing the players for the land under use (different for commercial and residential firms) the amount of which can be directly proportional to cost of land, type of firm, location and annual profit from the firm.
This may provide incentive to players to relocate the factories if tax to be paid for factories within the city is higher than savings in freight cost.

The total costs of moving a factory includes:
-the cost for buying a new land plot
-the cost for building the new factory

The old factory will be demolished and its building value will be written off as an expense.

The land plot where the original factory was based will remain the player's property. The player can sell it at the market price to get some cash back if the player wants.
