2.2.03. I noticed a couple times that after I paid off my loan, the main display stop updating normally (i.e., a few times per day), and rather only updates once per month. To be clear, I am confident this happened because I paid off my loan.

You can toggle this effect by hitting 'a' and borrow some money. The display with resume constantly updating.
You can then repay the loan, and the display will go back to updating monthly.

You may set up a retail store or a factory and you will see the main display updated daily again.

The main display didn't get update because the underlying numbers did not change.
