Bug - impossible to become mayor in scenario

Hello all,
First I want to say thank you for adjusting the campaigns and making AI more aggressive when campaigning in elections. Playing the game is more fun now, and I've stumbled across what seems to be an error in the newest version 11.0.67.
When playing the DLC scenario nr 2 (hardest level) the game does not let you become mayor of Pittsburgh. Even if you max out your campaign spending and have the longest campaign time, other parties seems to be favoured (see picture below). Tried this in two different attempts now - same result. It keeps favouring other candidates.
At some point in the end game my mayor candidate was actually leading the polls - however the city went bankrupt, and another candidate was preferred as new mayor (the election was cancelled). There should be some kind of a system that if the mayor resigns because of bankruptcy, the opposition candidate who was second in last elections becomes the mayor.

I have checked with the dev team, and it seems that it is not a bug. This is because the AI competition for the mayor is very strong, thus it is difficult to win. The dev team confirmed that the election system is not programmed to favor the AI in any way.

I've forwarded your suggestion on this to the dev team and they will consider it.

Great, thanks David!
Is there any info available on how political support is calculated in elections, as it is currently not possible to come into power by running perfect campaigns at maximum possible costs? Yet alone achieving the goals set for the scenario.

While the dev team was checking the election issue you mentioned, they also improved the gameplay balance of the election system.
Please give the latest version 11.0.73 a try and see if it will work better for you.
