Coping a factory and changing the inputs doesn't produce new items

When you copy a factory that is producing a certain food item like canned soup, then changing the inputs to milk and glass to make bottled milk, it doesn't convert the manufacturing product, unless you remove the manufacturing and replace it.
The manufacturing process just shows the red triangle complaining about missing items to make the chicken,
Further testing, i took a factory that makes bottle milk and wine, and changed the input of milk to grapes, and the factory will still mike bottle milk. even clearing out the bottle milk sales, continues to make milk.
