If you import a product into you import company, would it benefit to private label it for example you import a 'sofa'.
Is it the same criteria as a sea port?
If you import raw materials then no.

I generally don't really use Private Labels - but the general idea is that by building up the brand the product will sell better. It also helps for backward integration. If you start making your own sofas then you keep the good brand that you built up from the seaport imports.

it depends, if you own media companies i.e. and you plan to produce the product yourself later, its handy to use private labeling on the imported products and sell it as your brand so you get the brand rating up and the sales go towards your own product line, comes in handy when you can can finally produce it yourself and kick off instantly with a proper amount of sales. i sometimes do this even with competitor goods when i have high amount of stocks or plan to roll out products, i just use a free space in a warehouse to relabel and advertise without selling because if i merge the company in the brand rating doesnt come with it, and it means the price drops like hell and you not gonna have any profit for ages. doesnt cost anything with own media companies
