Hi,
I created OS for the following in ModWorld:

[OS_PC]
EARLY COMPUTER
DESKTOP
LAPTOP
SLATE TABLET

[OS_MOBILE]
SMARTPHONE
PHABLET

As far as I know these work as planned. I think you would get the effect you desire if you setup the companies with expertise in certain areas like software or computers. You can certainly define a whole swathe of new product classes as well if you wanted, you are not required to stick with what vanilla or even my mod have. Eg: You could really go to town on developing new product classes for software: PC OS; Mobile OS; Business Software; Accounting Software; etc. That's all moddable.

In regards to your desire for companies to do certain things, I am not sure how actionable that is - simply put, the AI will do what it deems to be the most useful thing at the time that it does it. The more constraints you put around it, the less likely it is for example that microsoft will launch a range of clothing, but the more likely you will create a game environment that is simply boring because it will always play out the same. The only way you could feasibly do this is essentially to create all the companies with their specialties, get rid of all the other products like Food & furniture and focus fully on the computer/communication markets. That way you still wouldn't necessarily be able to stop the Nvidia AI going into mobile phones, but at least that's more realistic than if they made dairy products.

The networking ideas are feasible using workarounds. Just simply add licensing to the farms like I did with media, sports and software. Its a quick and dirty way of doing it, but it works well and reasonably mirrors the process of having to license in certain industries. That said, I cannot see a way to have a software development spawn a license unless David and the team make some changes to the way software works. It's a pretty good idea to allow more specific licensing, but that's a game change and not a mod change.

Also a final note (which reminds me I should add this to the home page of the mod) I do actually have company logos included as well as some people - they are just not mapped to the companies. So as a human player you have a whole host of real world logos to choose from (scroll through the generics) and there will be real world people in the game that you can hire or compete against. Its on my agenda to present an update in due course where these have all been properly mapped, but its a lot of work to be fair and quite fiddly. I'll get there eventually.
Thanks.

Could you update it to be compatible with the new DLC?

I play tested with Post-release Beta 6.03.06 and v104 of my mod seems to work with or without all DLC switched on. What exactly was the problem you had ?

Hi Saffgee,

Your mod realy awesome.
But it has minor bug:
in custom script with this lines, game crashing with "ItemRes::operator[]".

[PRODUCTS]
Add Seaport Product=Natural Gas
...(some other natural resources)

Can you fix it?

We will investigate the problem.

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) Which version of Capitalism Lab you are using. You can see the version number on the top-right of the main menu.
2) The exact steps for triggering the bug with the save game

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from:
C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

You may email the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

If your save game file is too large for attachment, you may check out this post about how to send us large files: https://www.enlight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2473

Hi David,
I dont have any save file, because game wont start with adding this lines in script.
Game version: 6.3.08
Mod version:v1.04

[PRODUCTS]
Add Seaport Product=Natural Gas
...(some other natural resources)

But in this lines
when remove "[PRODUCTS]" everythink is perfect,
when adding this line crashing.

Is there any [PRODUCTS] keyword?
https://www.capitalismlab.com/scripts/s ... sproducts/

When you add products by script, you have to add them by their short names (code) I think. At least that seems to work for me.

Natural Gas in ModWorld = NATGAS
See below for the full list (the code is In capitals) - I recommend you leave them in capitals btw:
ALUMINIU Aluminium
CHROME Chromium
COAL Coal
COPPER Copper
GEMSTONE Gemstone
GOLD Gold
GRAPHITE Graphite
IRONORE Iron Ore
LITHIUM Lithium
MINERALS Minerals
NATGAS Natural Gas
OIL Crude Oil
POTASH Potash
SALT Salt
SILICA Silica
SILVER Silver
TIMBER Timber
WATER Fresh Water
ZINC Zinc

Let me know if you need any others.

When you say words, do you mean everything I modded ? I can give you access to my entire mod kit, but you'd need to check for yourself what you want to change. I'll send you a link.
