I’m back - unless this has been implemented already.

I’ve forwarded your suggestion to the dev team a while ago.

I would like to update you that the suggestion has been considered.

Here is the verdict:
Firstly, the current system is fine. With limited development resources, they would need to be allocated to more important tasks.

Secondly, this tech system is different from the tech of products and it is not feasible to apply tech disruption. The main significance of tech disruption is not just that it reduces the number of tech companies; rather, it means that if a company does not keep up with research to stay competitive, its technology will lag behind that of local competitors, which will be reflected in lower quality ratings of companies' products when compared to those of local competitors.

For Internet and software, there are no local competitors, thus there are no forces driving the tech disruption. If tech disruption were applied to software and Internet tech, in a scenario where no company currently conducts research on any specific software/Internet tech, but all of the companies' tech levels drop. This is not logical—what precisely caused the disruption in the tech?

On a positive note, the next version v9.1.18 will have fixes to the display issues of large tech values you mentioned in your first post. The display alignments have been improved to allow for displaying larger tech numbers.

Would it make sense to have a forum where posts considered not suitable to be implemented can be moved too, similar to how there is a place for suggestions implemented ?

I would say a big driver to tech disruption would be things such as hacking requiring security software to be constantly updated.
