If we are going to implement it, on which interface do you think we should place the "Rename Company" button?

I would say corporate details / overview would be a good option, or in the headquarter's CEO office. perhaps also during the dialogue when you merge with another company.

Perhaps the costs could be set up with a slider: the more you pay the less the damage on your brand. But there should be a minimal amount of costs depending on your company size.

I agree. If you pay a fee for changing the name then if the company previously used a corporate brand then that brand should only be damaged slightly.

I still am a big believer that there needs to be a way to transfer brands to subs. I often will begin production of a product class and then transfer this to a sub once I've decided to focus on other products. I then basically have to rebuild the brand from the start.
