Hey David,
I was wondering if we could get some idea about when the new version will be available for purchase. Is a matter of days, weeks, or months? I, for one, am excited about all the improvements made on the game... I know these sorts of deals take time, but I just think it would be helpful to everyone to know how long we are looking at. Thanks for all the work in making the game better. This is by far the best business strategy game out on the market today!

Personally, I'd prefer to have a single-player version of the game that I buy. However, there can be little doubt of the higher profitability and wider acceptance of a Facebook version (that I wouldn't play). I'd imagine that most of the people who would be likely to post in these forums LOVE the game as it exists now, away from the social media forum, but this kind of simulation is RIPE for Facebook acceptance.

If you choose to do both (and, for your profitability, I'd encourage that), I just hope that the Facebook version would never compromise the full and rich stand-alone version that we, in these forums, love so much.

David, I do suggest that you allow players pre-order the new version and be able to access to the beta. Beta testers are more concerned and engaged whenever they have a stake in a game.

I second this, I would definitely pre-order the game, beta or not.
(would also gladly pay a price well above 20 USD - this game is worth it!)

And please, tell us if this is a game that will be released this year or not.

I am not a user of facebook, so a game on that "medium" is of no interest.
Would however agree that it could be well worth your while to make - the concept of the game is well suited for that.

While I understand why you would make a facebook variant of the game, I'm a lot more interested in the "normal" game. I voted for the first option. An annual fee would most likely stop me from buying, even if $10 a year isn't much to argue about.

I want the product, not a subscription.

I also would like to see a release date posted, so we can have something to look forward to. I've been glancing at these forums for quite some time now, and I get the updates through the facebook group you have set up. From what I understand, the development of CapLab has been going on for quite some time. Maybe it's time to release something soon?

I see all these new things you're posting, and I play CapII from time to time, but with every new feature you post here, the actual game I do play, gets more and more boring.

Have you decided on the distribution channel you will be using for CapLab? I would hazard a guess that releasing through steam or Gog would be your best bet. A preorder discount to get some buzz going and the promotion that would be given by one of those channels would be fantastic. Brick and mortar retail is dead for PC games, don't bother with it.

I wont be buying from Steam... Never seen any system cloggin up a harddrive as much as Steam does..

Steam makes the most sense, successful PC games nowadays are either from a massive studio (EA and Origin) or on Steam. Forget about it clogging up your hard drive - it is actually brilliant for the modern PC gamer and has improved massively in the past few years.

The anti-piracy measures and massive promotion potential provided by steam should make this a no brainer for enlight.

Yes, I buy's a lot of games on Steam! No problem at all.

I totally agree on the anti piracy bit, but I've got four kids with Steam accounts. It's no problem as long as you stick to one account on each computer, but kids move around and use all computers in the house. (we had a gaming room for a while). When you use the same computer for more than one account, the system kinda fails. I've seen up to seven installations of Halflife2 in various folders under the steamapps folder.
