Capitalism 2 and Capitalism Lab Forum

Lab has been around for a while now, and atleast for me, it's become the houshold name. Since I'm a bit of a geek myself, I don't really have any problems with it.

How about Capitalism Deluxe, as its not totally a new game, but is vastly improved. A lot like Transport Tycoon Deluxe off of the 90's.

Capitalism Lab does sound nice. But it sounds more a simulation programm for use only by specific people, maybe not to attract the casual gamer.

More casual names on the initial Poll are:

Capitalism Empire (this sounds a bit to casual, like the 902390234 other tycoon games around these days)
Capitalism Evolution (this sounds good, it gives the idea of it not being the first game in the serie (for the people not knowing Cap and Cap2) and for those who do, it sounds like it is; numerous new and upgraded/renewed gameplay stuff

How about a simple Capitalism 3?

Like the Sims franchise, keep it simple and should there be a need for add-ons you could name them Capitalism 3 : Stocks & Bonds Add-On, Capitalism 3 : Smartphone War Add-on, etc or whathaveyou.

Capitalism Lab really doesn't ring a bell for me. Besides, naming it Capitalism 3 would make people look up what the former versions were and might make them interested in shelling out their money for the new one.

(*) I really don't understand why this is a Cap2 add-on. I mean... it's been like 10+ years since Cap2 came out and naming it as an 'Add-on" for Cap2 is kinda... you know, strange.

Because it is cap 2 and not a new engine.

You can´t name a 10 years old engine cap 3.

I´m sure most of us don´t need/want a new engine. Personally I´m glad that the improvements of CapLab are inside and the efforts are not invested in 3d technology.

The abreviation addon, comes from the word additional (correct me if im wrong), which means "it" is an extension of something else. Which also relates to the fact you normaly need the original (in this case cap2) to use the addon.

Since the new Cap game (whatever its name is gonna be) is a standalone game it is not an addon to Cap2. The use of graphics engine has nothing to do with wether the programm is an addon or not. Think of all the games out there that use the Unreal 3 engine.... they are standalone games and not addons of the original Unreal 3

I mean no disrespect to you Nebogipfel, and i also think the graphics engine is still fine for the new cap game specialy due to the support of modern resolutions.

I stand by my vote for the name Capitalism Evolution, but i would also be happy if it is named Capitalism 3

What I thought was just, that people who are not involved like us in this process, maybe the casual player seeing a new cap 3 in the shop, will be disappointed once he is at home and discovers what he bought.

Personally I can live with most of the names (even if I prefer CapLab), because once you´re playing the game the name of it doesn´t interest any more.

Sorry if I make a double post, but the name of this game should left to the people developing it.
