New Feature: Farm Equipment in Capitalism Lab post-release beta version 12

Farm Equipment is a major new feature in the Experimental DLC, designed to introduce greater realism and strategic depth to agricultural management. In the base game, product quality is driven entirely by training and leveling up farming units. With the Farm Equipment system enabled, these bonuses are intentionally reduced, making specialized farm equipment essential for achieving higher productivity and premium quality outputs.

The system also opens up lucrative B2B manufacturing opportunities. Companies can build their own farm equipment factories to supply the market or support their own farms. For large agricultural operations, vertically integrating into equipment production becomes a powerful strategic advantage, allowing you to capture profits internally and strengthen your position across the entire farming supply chain.

Mechanically-wise, the best addition to the game! It’s really what I have expected from the game for the longest time - creating B2B market connecting standard production layout with fixed costs of other firms.

I really hope that this idea would be extended to other industries (e.g. machinery for factories, services for headquarters etc). A huge potential being added to the game.

Glad that you like this new feature. If you have any gameplay balance suggestions on it after playing it, please feel free to let me know.

The dev team told me that they have a plan to expand B2B machinery to factories in next year's major update version 13.

Sure, I’ll let you know. As of now I can’t get my head around two things:
- is there a way to get info on the size of this B2B / farming equipment market and your company’s share in it?
- does farming equipment require freight, when being sold to farm? If so what type of freight?

As for machinery, amazing news. Thanks!

Hello, I can't activate the farm options; they don't seem to be there.

So it looks like farms just consume equipment at a steady rate. Do they have a stockpile that they build up and then burn through? Does switching to higher quality equipment then just gradually increase the unit's quality?

Also, is there going to be any differentiation between investing in farm product Quality vs. Quantity? As it is, they both rise together, so all that matters is how old a farm is. No choices like "expensive high quality tomatoes" vs. "cheap bulk wheat".

Currently, the game does not display this information. If you feel it would be useful, you may consider creating a suggestion post on the forum.

You can see it from the farm equip purchase section, as shown in this screenshot.

A farm stops buying equipment once it has obtained the required quantity.

It will only purchase again if a supplier offers equipment of higher quality, in which case the farm will buy new supply and replace its existing equipment.

Please see the section "Equipment Replacement Quality Threshold" on this webpage https://www.capitalismlab.com/farm-equipment/ for more details.
