Post by David »

Closed Beta Patch version 4.2.05 is now available for download from:
http://12299.cdn.beyondhosting.net/caplab/CB4205.zip

Then extract the ZIP file to your Early Access version of Capitalism Lab program folder. You can open your Capitalism Lab program folder by right-clicking on the Capitalism Lab Post-release Beta game icon and select “Properties”, then select “Open File Location” to open the folder.

If you are using this DLC for the first time, you need to download the Installer of version 4.2.00 first. Please see this post for the details: http://www.capitalismlab.com/forum/view ... =16&t=3704

(The saved game files from versions older than 4.2.05 are not compatible.)

Business income/building costs etc still seems to be only 10% of that it is in normal game.

The two city mode buttons still none solid so you can end up clicking whatever is behind them.

(As with main game and subsidiary not enough people get created in game if you start with a fairly low no. of companies).

Cities end up with mayors not in political parties still.

Mayors in new cities allowed to auto build spam civic and sports buildings allover map

AI never donates to the other political parties

1) Yes, the costs are lower than a normal game. This is to make it easier for the player to survive.

2) Could you send me your save game file that caused the crash when your city went bankrupt?
(As with main game and subsidiary not enough people get created in game if you start with a fairly low no. of companies).
We have already increased it. In what way did you find it not sufficient?

It seems to me the money companies actually make also seems to be reduced though, so doesn't make any real difference ? My most profitable subsidiary only has an annual profit of about 80 million after 70 years...

Its where I had left game to autorun for some time.. I will see if I can recreate and attach.

This may be related to the issue you fixed in .12 on the main release ? I use the same script with 50 employees set to start my game and got the same 30 starting people as I did in normal game.

It seems so.
Cities end up with mayors not in political parties still.
We will further increase the number AI persons in the next update and it should resolve this.
Mayors in new cities allowed to auto build spam civic and sports buildings allover map
Please send me a save game with this problem and we will look into it.

In my testing, the AI did build many new civic buildings. But it seems that the AI was just trying to build new buildings to meet the citizens' demand. So it is not abnormal.
Founding a second new city allowed me to build landmark immediately
When you have unlocked a landmark, you can actually build it in any cities where you control the mayor.

AI never donates to the other political parties
AI does donate - see the attached screenshot. But only when they have cash.

If there is a situation where you think the AI should donate but it didn't happen, you may send me the save game and we will check it.

As you can see the game has moved to 1976 and no election has triggered.

The attached saved game shows the mayors term issue and the way the AI has spread the buildings across the map... meaning it has a 64million budget deficit as its built all the services instantly when it should build just a few things at first... the spread out way means the location convenience/coverage for many of the buildings is zero... the ai needs to cluster them and build a compact city (more like I did with Manchester). (this is also the existing game that eventually gave the crash on bankruptcy)

it may just be then because the companies in my game aren't making much money
is there any list anywhere of donations so we can see who donates to what ? certainly in the UK large donations to political parties are public information.

(eg http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/f ... #topdonors )
