Okay, so I initially had a problem with a really high resolution on my primary monitor.. and a really small UI when it was used. I was able to correct this and the game will work in full screen mode using a compatibility adjustment to have the ap use the System Enhanced DPI setting. UI looks great in full screen and works perfectly on 3840x2160.
Problem is the moment I switch to borderless full screen, it's like the entire aps resolution size doubles and it spans the full screen and intrudes half way onto the adjacent monitor space. Does anyone know a work around for this or a technical solution that allows me to preserve the UI scaling while keeping the game in a borderless full screen window?

I have an idea for a possible solution. Rather than having a true borderless full screen state, would it be possible to untrap the mouse while it is in fullscreen state, giving it essentially the function of a borderless full screen, without it truly being windowed or in that mode?

I asked the programmer. Unfortunately this can't be done because the CapLab app only has access to the pixels on the full screen and cannot draw outside them.Maelstrom Vortex wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 4:19 am I have an idea for a possible solution. On a separate note, you may use this freeware program called Sizer to scale up the Capitalism Lab window:
http://www.brianapps.net/sizer4/
You can download it from: https://www.brianapps.net/sizer4/
The user guide can be viewed at https://www.brianapps.net/sizer/userguide.html
You can run Capitalism Lab in 1920x1080 windowed mode, and then use this tool to scale up the window.

Unfortunately, this did not work. The freeware window edges were locked in windows 11 or using an incorrect resize parameter. But I just tried.. tested and confirmed a 5.00 solution that makes the game look glorious and you can kind of pick your own ui size based on the resolution you select in windowed mode. You should likely sticky this somewhere and perhaps see if you can get licensing to package with your game.. but just a handy reference to people with multiple monitors, visual problems, and scaling issues in general will find this their dream come true if they still love this and other older titles:
Lossless scaling should make this work on just about any monitor configuration.

I am not related to them. I don't promote them except for they fact they solved what I thought unsolvable! You may mark solved and close.

may have to try that or magpie, on my new laptop that is 2560x1600 if I have scaling set on the desktop, the game CTD's if its set to full screen and only runs in windows ... despite multiple fiddling with compatibility and other settings

I'm delighted to inform you that the dev team has been working on a SDL version of Capitalism Lab. It will be available in the upcoming version 10.0 alongside the non-SDL version.
