Financial reporting/dashboards

One thing which stikes me every time I am in trouble and wanting to check what's going wrong, is the game does actually an average job at reporting what's going on, thus making spotting trouble basically a hide & seek game.

I was about to make a list of missing panes, but I thought that list might have been misinterpreted as a list of things to correct.
I guess the problem is more generic.

Unless mistaken, a sum up of all the trouble could be this question: How to break down numbers you see in the Income Statement view for different time & space granularities?.
Derivatives can be (addressing each a different UI problem):
  • How do I see those numbers for a specific product (class)?
  • How do I see these numbers for last day/week?
  • How do I see these numbers for a specific firm/city?
  • How do I see those numbers for the 1995-04-12 to 1995-04-15 timerange? (less important, can be seen as 'the next step')
All the views available for reporting in Corporate Details (Forms, Products, Income Statement) are missing one or more elements to even be usable to cross-check numbers, hindering their usefulness potential.
It looks like the reporting like you need for real-world analytical accounting/decision management work is missing and kinda impossible to obtain.

I agree. Actually I think many data are already available there in game as you can tell from the many charts. A quick solution would be being able to export those data underlying. A excel can do a lot of things on those data

Hello to everyone,
I agree with your request to transfer data.

David, please hear us! :

Such a transfer will contribute to the faster development of the Cap lab.

I would suggest that you create a poll for your suggestion. If there is a large enough number of users interested in it, there will be a higher chance that the development team will implement it.

You could see some examples in the Suggestion forum.

I don't think that any change to the Corporate Details or Balance Sheet is yet necessary, but exporting the data to Excel would be an awesome, quick and very customizable solution to serve the needs of everybody.
