I have to say that I was both happy and disappointed with this feature.
First, it's a lot easier to do than I first thought. It adds a nice dynamic to Research. Things should look different the more tech you have on it.
However, I did that multi tier that they suggest, were I have multiple tech levels of a product (Desktop Computers and Notebooks). I cut them up in 4 since that's the number of slots a store has...
I had 4 different Desktops and 4 different Notebooks...
And doing that was a lot harder then I thought it would be.
Now all of that was fine and dandy. A bit of busy work but ok.
What disappointed me was that total sales for both dropped in half. I made 1.4 billion on Desks and 1.2 billion with Notebooks when all of them were priced 1,000.
I made 925M on Desk and 600m on Notes when they were I had 4 priced from 1,000 to 600.
AND I got no more of the market share.
And no I didn't research or release any other tech (like Tablets)
It was a lot of work and it was counter productive.
