Text support

Post by Meiaman »

Hello, guys.

I am about to start using capitalism lab again in class and i am almost done translating it to portuguese.

However, i would like to know what the game currently supports. (v 2.7.2.2)

Product names?
City names?
Firm names?
Report names (they are available at t_game.txt, but they do not translate, possibly a bug?)

If they are supported, how do you translate them? I suppose their info is somewhere else?

You may translate them by creating a MOD and translate the DBF files in the MOD kit.
For details, please see: http://www.capitalismlab.com/mod.html
Report names (they are available at t_game.txt, but they do not translate, possibly a bug?)
You may send me your t_game.txt file and I will check this for you.

Beautiful, the product translation worked like a charm. ;)

Regarding firm names: the mod file containing buildings is completely empty, aside from the first row.

Also, this is what i found inside the natural resource file. Can i edit the names for each natural resource?

Actually, you should edit the natural resource names in Product_Types.DBF instead.

For firm names, I would recommend that you use Translate.TXT for them by adding a pair of firm names with the original and the translated names for each firm type.

For details, please see: http://www.capitalismlab.com/how-to-tra ... -text.html
(See the section titled "Additional Translation File" )
