Poll: Road building and demolition

Post by WardenCommander »

I would very much appreciate the ability to tear up and replace road, so that I can lay out cities better, because currently, the way the roads are set up tend to be a major pain.

I like this idea! This will definitely add more gameplay to the real estate industry.

I second that! As a starting point, the survival mode might be a good candidate as the roads look like simply generated in there.

I've forwarded this suggestion to the dev team.

Does everyone foresee any new exploits that may be made possible with road demolition, to the player's advantage?

If it is a generally safe feature, gameplay wise, the dev team will consider it.

Now, if you can demolish roads and build them, that would open the possibility to start railroads!!
I thought this was "hardcoded".

Railroads and all additions could be implemented in new Transport DLC

Road in end has to be connected to one side of the map if its not then you cant build around it.

"player's advantage" when he is a Mayor could be that he delete all roads and no one can build new buildings, factories, stores
but this can be prevented with rule, that no one can delete road if something is holding to it, and with above that road has to end/begin on map sides, there is no advantage for player.

Road Construction would simply make that you can make yours cities nicer, and more efficient use of space.

I have forwarded your note to the dev team. They told me that they will implement a quick-and-dirty way to let users build and demolish roads for experimental gameplay testing in the upcoming version 6.2.00.

Also it would be great if the mayor could delete / purchase / demolish mansions that are owned by other NPC - sometimes NPC builds mansions in the prime area and is a huge inconvenience
